Accessible Runaway Subscribe Button
By Karo
Build a subscribe button that runs away from the cursor up to four times, then surrenders so the reader can click it. Playful friction, not hostile friction. Ships with full WCAG accessibility: respects prefers-reduced-motion, keeps keyboard focus visible, and disables runaway behavior on touch.
We tested it on productwithattitude.com. In six days, twenty new subscribers came from the homepage. The static button was bringing in about half that per week.
